Bites and Plans

This page is part of our Terms of Service. It says what Bites are, how they are counted, and what they are not.
1. What Bites are
Bites are how Cutbite counts what it makes for you: an edit, an animation, a picture made into a clip, music made for a video, and so on. Each thing costs a number of Bites that follows roughly what it costs us to make (about ten US cents a Bite). Your plan gives your workspace a number of Bites each month (the Free plan’s are given once, to try it).

More Bites come in packs of 100 Bites for $35. Prices are in US dollars. A month’s Bites do not roll over into the next month.
3. While we are testing
We do not take payment yet. While Cutbite is being tested, Bites are counted and shown so you can see what things cost, but nothing is refused when a workspace goes past its plan, and nobody is charged. The prices above are the ones we plan to charge.
Before any payment is taken, we will publish the billing terms (how you are charged, renewals, cancellation and refunds) and ask you to agree to them. Nothing will be charged to you without that.
4. What Bites are not
- Bites are not money and have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money, sold, transferred to another workspace or person, or used outside Cutbite.
- Bites given back (for example, a Bite caught while an edit is made: 3 an edit, 10 a day) are a courtesy and can be changed or ended at any time.
- A paid plan’s unused Bites end with the month they were given for. All unused Bites end when a workspace or account is closed.
5. Changes
We may change what things cost in Bites, the plans and their prices. We will tell you before a change that affects what you pay takes effect, and a change never applies to anything already made.
